Stake Merit Badge Pow Wow

Scout parents,

March 6, 13, and 20 are the nights of the Center Stake Pow Wow.  It's time to let the stake know what badges we want to earn.

This is a great opportunity to earn some badges.  To take advantage of it the boys need to be there each of the three nights!  This is very important.

I've listed below the badges that will be offered and the scouts who already which badges.  I encourage you to encourage your boys to work on required (*) badges.  They should choose two unless they select Cooking or Swimming.  In that case, there will only be time for one badge.

*First Aid: Brandon, Cameron, Henry, Kyle H, Kyle P, Peyton, Rhys
*Citizenship in the Community: --
*Citizenship in the Nation: Peyton
*Citizenship in the World: --
*Communications: --
Engineering: --
*Personal Management: --
Crime Prevention/Fingerprinting: Brandon, Kyle P
Fire Safety: --
Photography: --
Art: --
Cooking: --
*Emergency Preparedness: Brandon, Cameron, Kyle P, Kyle HH
*Swimming: --

Please have your scout come Tuesday ready to sign up,

Tuesday, January 3

Parents,

Please send your boy to Scout meeting on January 3 in his Scout shirt and with his worksheets for the family life merit badge.  We'll work on that together but the real challenge with this badge (as with Personal Management and Personal Fitness) is keeping track of the 3 months of chores.

Thanks!

Steve

December 20 and 27

Scout parents,

Here's a quick reminder that we will meet at the normal time both tonight and next week.  We will help with a service project tonight and we will plan a big chunk of 2012 next week.

How are the boys doing on Personal Fitness, Personal Management, and Family Life?

Merry Christmas!

Let's go camping!

The Targhee District Camporee is tomorrow night.  Let's meet at the church at 5:00.  We will take care of dinner so just send your Scout with

  • warm clothes,
  • a warm sleeping bag,
  • a warm coat,
  • gloves,
  • a warm hat,
  • a check for $10 (can't come without it!),
  • wearing his Scout shirt
  • and a smile.

As a reminder, here's the note from the District.

"Please be prepared to learn scouting skills and Indian/Mountain Man activities and games. We will have a competitive relay at the end with prizes. Also, bring uniforms for all the boys and leaders (very important)! Bring dry kindling and wood for fires. A compass will also be needed. The cost is $10 per person."

Looking forward to a good camp,

Scoutmaster Steve

District Camporee

Scouting parents,

November 4-5 (next Friday and Saturday) is the Targhee District Fall Camporee at Krupp.  Here's the word from the district:

Please be prepared to learn scouting skills and Indian/Mountain Man activities and games. We will have a competitive relay at the end with prizes. Also, bring uniforms for all the boys and leaders (very important)! Bring dry kindling and wood for fires. A compass will also be needed. The cost is $10 per person.
I apologize for not publicizing this earlier but let's see if we can get a good group together for a good Scouting experience.

Treasure Mountain 2011 -- 1

Parents,

We had a great camp. You should be proud of your sons' achievements, especially climbing Table Rock.

More pictures coming,
